- Mercury is naturally metallic silver colored. Manufacturers of thermometers add red food coloring to give thermometers that "trademark" look.

On the summer solstist it will be so hot that every body's cell phone will melt into a puddle of goo and lost phone numbers. Some idiots will purchase a new phone and as a requirement imposed by the big 3 they will be served a new number. No one will be able to be "in touch" because everybody has new numbers and the old saved numbers are slipping through the cracks of a hot sidewalk. And there's more. Just imagine what will happen on the winter solstice?
